After arriving in Delhi, there will be a meeting and assistance followed by a drive to Haridwar. Upon arrival at Haridwar, check-in at the hotel. In the evening, we will visit Mansa Devi temple and attend Aarti at Har Ki Peri. We will stay overnight at the hotel. Haridwar, located at the foot of Shiva's hills (known as Shivaliks) in the district of Haridwar, Uttaranchal Pradesh, is a gateway. The Suryavanshi prince Bhagirath performed penance here to save the souls of his ancestors who had perished due to the curse of sage Kapila. His penance was answered and the river Ganga trickled forth from Lord Shiva's locks, reviving the sixty thousand sons of King Sagara with its bountiful water. In tradition with Bhagirath, devout Hindus stand in these sacred waters praying for salvation for their departed elders. It serves as a doorway to the sources of both Ganga and Yamuna rivers which originate 3000-4500 meters up in the snowy ranges of central Himalayas. The 'Aarti' worship ceremony held after sunset on this holy river and floating 'dia' (lamp) is a deeply moving ritual.
