Top Highlights & Experiences
Morning – Pick‑up from Udaipur and Scenic Drive
Your first day starts with a comfortable pick‑up from Udaipur Airport, Railway Station, or your hotel, where your private driver meets you with a clean AC car. You then begin the journey straight towards Mount Abu, Rajasthan’s only hill station, around 165 km from Udaipur.
The drive takes about 3–4 hours and passes through beautiful stretches of the Aravalli hills, with curving roads, rocky landscapes and green patches around you. On the way, your driver can stop for chai breaks, washrooms and photo stops whenever you like, so the journey feels relaxed instead of rushed.
Afternoon – Check‑in and Nakki Lake Experience
On arrival in Mount Abu, you check in at your hotel and have time for lunch and a quick freshen‑up. After a short rest, your sightseeing begins with the heart of the town – Nakki Lake.
Nakki Lake is a scenic man‑made lake surrounded by hills and oddly shaped rocks, including the famous Toad Rock and other formations that make great photo spots. You can enjoy a paddle boat ride on the calm waters, take a gentle walk along the lakeside, or simply sit and enjoy the cool breeze and mountain views. It’s one of the best places to feel the peaceful side of Mount Abu as soon as you arrive.
Evening – Sunset Point and Mall Road Walk
As the day gets cooler, you head towards Sunset Point, one of Mount Abu’s most popular viewpoints. From here you get golden views over the Aravalli hills, as the sun slowly sets and paints the sky in orange and pink tones. It’s a favourite spot for couples, families and photographers, and a beautiful way to end your first day.
After sunset, your driver drops you near Mount Abu’s Mall Road. Here you can enjoy a relaxed walk through the market, shop for local handicrafts, woollen clothes and souvenirs, and taste Rajasthani and Gujarati street food such as kachori, pakoras and hot tea. Later, you return to the hotel for dinner and a comfortable night’s rest in the cool hill‑station climate.
Morning – Dilwara Jain Temples and Guru Shikhar
After breakfast, you start your full‑day sightseeing of Mount Abu’s most famous attractions. The first stop is the legendary Dilwara Jain Temples, considered among the finest examples of marble architecture in India. Built between the 11th and 13th centuries, these temples are known for their incredibly detailed marble carvings, pillars and ceilings, all made with great skill and devotion. Photography is usually restricted inside, but the experience is unforgettable.
From here, you continue to Guru Shikhar, the highest peak of the Aravalli range at about 1,722 metres above sea level. The drive and short climb reward you with wide panoramic views of the surrounding hills, valleys and forests. On the top, you can also visit the temple dedicated to Dattatreya/Brahma, and spend some quiet time in the refreshing mountain air.
If time allows, you may also visit the Brahma Kumaris Peace Park or a similar peaceful garden area, where you can relax amidst greenery and enjoy a short break in a calm environment.
Afternoon – Adhar Devi Temple and Achalgarh Fort
After a lunch break at a local restaurant or your hotel, your tour continues with more spiritual and historical sights. One important stop is the Adhar Devi Temple (also called Arbuda Devi Temple), a cave temple dedicated to Goddess Durga. To reach the shrine, you climb about 365 steps, which can feel a little challenging, but from the top you get impressive views over Mount Abu and the valleys below. If someone in your group wants to avoid stairs, this stop can be adjusted or skipped as per comfort.
Next, you visit Achalgarh Fort, an ancient hilltop fort built by the rulers of Mewar. The fort area includes historic temples and viewpoints, and offers beautiful vistas of the surrounding hills and countryside. It’s a good spot for history lovers as well as anyone who enjoys photography and open views.
Late Afternoon & Evening – Trevor’s Tank and Free Time
Towards the later part of the day, you stop at Trevor’s Tank, a man‑made lake and nature spot a few kilometres from town. The area is known for its green surroundings, birds and occasional wildlife, and is popular for quiet walks, photography and nature watching. With some luck, you may see crocodiles or other animals from a safe distance, as this area has been used as a breeding centre and picnic spot.
After visiting Trevor’s Tank, you return towards the Nakki Lake area or market side. The evening is usually kept free so you can choose what you feel like doing – another peaceful walk by the lake, a relaxed coffee at a lakeside café, or some more shopping at the local market. Later, you head back to the hotel for dinner and your second overnight stay in Mount Abu.
Morning – Easy Start, Optional Sunrise and Activities
Your last day in Mount Abu is designed to be slow and relaxing. If you like early mornings, you can start the day with a visit to a Sunrise Point, where you can watch the first light over the hills and enjoy the cool, fresh air. Otherwise, you can simply sleep a bit longer and enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the hotel.
After breakfast, you still have some free time to enjoy the hill station before checking out. Depending on your interest, you can:
Late Morning – Check‑out and Return Journey
Around 11:00 AM, you check out from the hotel and start your drive back to Udaipur with your private driver. The return journey again takes around 3–4 hours, following the same scenic route through the Aravalli hills. On the way, you can stop for lunch, tea and photos as needed, keeping the travel comfortable and easy.
