Arrival and Hotel Check‑in
You arrive at Udaipur Railway Station or Maharana Pratap Airport, where our representative meets you and escorts you to your hotel in a private cab. Once you check in, there is a short break to freshen up, have a tea or coffee and leave your bags. The idea is simple: you should not feel rushed in the first hour of your trip.

City Palace – Inside the Royal Walls
Your first real look at Udaipur’s history starts at City Palace, a complex that almost feels like a small walled city of its own. Built over centuries by the rulers of Mewar, it combines Rajput and Mughal styles and opens up to grand views of Lake Pichola.

You walk through courtyards, narrow passages, decorated halls and small museums that show royal costumes, old photographs, weapons and glass work. From the balconies, the lake looks calm and endless, and for many visitors this is the moment when Udaipur really “clicks” in their mind.

Jagdish Temple – A Short Walk and a Different Energy
From the palace gate, you follow the slight slope of the old city lane to Jagdish Temple, a 17th‑century temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The steps are usually busy with devotees, tourists, and the usual chai and prasad stalls. The shikhara is covered with detailed carvings and, if you go inside, the sound of bells and chants cuts off the city noise for a few minutes.

It is a short stop, but it adds a very different layer to your first day – not just history, but faith and daily life.

Lunch Break – Your First Taste of the City
After the temple, your driver takes you to a recommended restaurant or rooftop café. Depending on your preference, you can go for a proper Rajasthani thali with dal baati churma, gatte ki sabzi and churma, or keep it light with North Indian or continental options. Whatever you choose, the goal is simple – eat well, slow down and be ready for the second half of the day.

Lake Pichola Boat Ride – Udaipur’s Signature Experience
In the late afternoon, when the light starts getting softer, you head towards Lake Pichola. From the jetty, you take a boat (shared or private, as per your choice) and slowly glide over the water. It’s hard not to feel the charm here – the City Palace on one side, old ghats and houses on the other, and in the middle the white Taj Lake Palace and Jag Mandir island.

Most travellers agree that a Pichola boat ride is the highlight of any 2‑day Udaipur itinerary, simply because the city looks different from the water – broader, quieter and somehow more complete.

If your boat includes a stop at Jag Mandir, you’ll get down for a short walk around the island, click photos near the stone elephants and maybe grab a quick coffee before heading back.

Evening by the Lake & Return to Hotel
As the sun sets, you can spend some time at a lakeside ghat or café – Ambrai Ghat is a popular choice – just watching the lights come on in the palace and the reflections on the water. There is no fixed “program” here; it’s simply time to sit, talk, or stay quiet and look at the view.

Later, your driver drops you back at the hotel. Overnight stay in Udaipur.

The second 2 day design to balance sightseeing with breathing space. You’ve already seen the “big” places; now you see Udaipur from different angles – from a hilltop, from inside a shaded garden, from a lakeside bench and from a seat at a folk dance show.

Morning: Sajjangarh (Monsoon Palace) – Udaipur from Above
After breakfast, you drive up to Sajjangarh, also called the Monsoon Palace, built high on a hill overlooking the city. The palace itself is a simple white structure, but the main attraction is the view: lakes, green patches, city buildings and the endless Aravalli hills.

On a clear day, you can see why the rulers chose this place to watch the monsoon clouds and, today, why travellers keep coming here for sunset photos and wide panoramas.

Late Morning: Saheliyon Ki Bari – A Green Corner of the City
Back down in the city, you visit Saheliyon Ki Bari, a garden originally created for the queen and her companions. It has fountains, lotus pools, marble pavilions and tall trees that give shade even in the hotter months.

Compared to the palace, it is quieter and more casual – you’ll see families, couples and groups just walking slowly, sitting on benches and taking photos near the fountains. It’s a good place to rest your legs and still feel connected to Udaipur’s royal past.

Optional Stop: Vintage Car Collection / Museum
If you like old cars or history, we can add a short visit to the Vintage Car Museum or another local museum in your package. The vintage collection includes Rolls Royces and other classic cars used by the royal family, along with old photographs and small displays. It’s a niche stop, but many travellers enjoy this change in theme between palaces and lakes.

Afternoon: Fateh Sagar Lake & Local Lunch
By now it’s time for another lake, but with a different atmosphere. Fateh Sagar is more “local” in nature – you’ll find young people hanging out near the railing, families enjoying snacks, and small stalls selling chai, corn and fast food.

If you wish, you can take a short boat ride here as well or visit Nehru Garden in the middle of the lake. Otherwise, it’s perfectly fine to just walk slowly by the water and enjoy the breeze.

Lunch can be arranged at a simple, popular restaurant in this area, where you taste everyday Rajasthani food (like dal, sabzi, roti, kachori) rather than only “hotel style” dishes.

Late Afternoon: Markets and Handicrafts
No Udaipur visit is complete without at least a short look at the markets. Depending on your interest, we can drive you to Hathi Pol, Bada Bazaar or nearby shopping lanes, where you’ll find miniature paintings, textiles, leather items, silver jewellery and home décor.

You don’t have to buy anything; even just walking through these lanes, watching shopkeepers paint or arrange their goods, gives you a sense of the city’s creative side.

Evening: Bagore Ki Haveli Cultural Show (Optional but Highly Recommended)
If your departure timing allows, you can end your 2 days in Udaipur with a cultural show at Bagore Ki Haveli, a heritage haveli located right next to Lake Pichola. The “Dharohar” show is a one‑hour performance with traditional Rajasthani folk dances, music, and puppetry – energetic, colourful and surprisingly intimate, as the courtyard is not very large.

Many travellers say that this show is what makes Udaipur feel truly alive in their memory – not just as a place of monuments, but as a place of living culture.

Departure
After the show or your evening walk, our driver drops you at Udaipur Airport, Railway Station or bus stand for your onward journey. The tour ends here, but the lake views tend to stay with people for a long time.
