This Aarti begins at 6 p.m. Post-sunset, hundreds of people throng both banks of that canal which carries the waters of Ganges when the priests with three-tier diyas and fire bowls in their hands start uttering the mantras for Ganga. Pretty much at the same time, the temple bells at the ghat begin chiming, which adds on to the enchantment of the occasion. The people light ripples to float on the river in their honor. One can also visit the local market of Bara Bazar, which ranks as the primary marketplace of the city in vibrant colors. The traditional Bazar, which twists through narrow lanes, is full of shops selling religious paraphernalia such as Rudraksha seeds, ayurvedic products and medicines, handmade items, and ornaments.
